Note: Changing the game, connection, or time window produces a new power ranking; changing the host region or pond only filters the current power ranking. *

How to Seed a Bracket

  1. Search for the Tag, ID, or Slug of a tournament entrant. (Be sure to keep the same Game, Connection, and Window settings for every entrant of the same tournament. The Host Region filter may be useful in reducing the number of search results.)
  2. Click on an entrant's Tag to verify the correct Start.gg profile.
  3. Jot down the value of their Wrating. (Give an unlisted player an "average" Wrating of 1500, unless there's a better empirical estimate.)
  4. Repeat steps 1, 2, and 3 for each entrant.
  5. Enter the list of entrants, sorted by descending order, into Start.gg. (Settle seeding disputes using the 2D probability tool.)
  6. Select the Start.gg option to match the top player with the middle player.
  7. Tweak the bracket manually to postpone particular matchups until as late in the bracket as possible.
